Nat joined Franks & Co in 2018, having previously worked in the patent industry for three years. Prior to intellectual property, Nat worked in the field of energy and environmental engineering including renewable energy and building controls.

After his physics degree at Manchester University, Nat took the MSC at Cranfield specialising in low energy design, renewable energy and thermal processes.

Nat has experience in the field of energy conservation, building services and renewable energy projects, such as biomass, photovoltaics and hydroelectric.

For patents, Nat is experienced in the fields of mechanical engineering, sensors and instrumentation, physics, navigation systems and energy systems, and also handles general electrical/mechanical work. Nat has acquired substantial experience in prosecution at the European Patent Office for corporate international clients with large patent portfolios for example, the European patent portfolio of a leading US technology corporation.

Nat also has experience with Trade Mark and Design work, including filing of oppositions, freedom to use searches, and drafting goods and services specifications.
