On June 3, 2009, the Government of Egypt deposited with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) its instrument of ratification of the Madrid Protocol Concerning the International Registration of Marks.

Egypt Ratifies Madrid Protocol For The International Registration Of Trade Marks

The Madrid Protocol will enter into force with respect to Egypt on September 3, 2009.

Ratification of the Madrid Protocol by Egypt brings the number of Contracting Parties of the Protocol to 79. The total number of Contracting Parties of the Madrid System remains 84. A list of the members of the Madrid Union and information on the dates on which these Contracting Parties became party to the Madrid Agreement and/or the Madrid Protocol are available on WIPO’s website, at the following address: https://www.wipo.int/madrid/en/.
