Laura Green at our Sheffield Office has been entered onto the list of professional representatives before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), meaning that she is now a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney.
According to Article 93 of the Community Trade Marks Regulation, representation before the Office may only be undertaken by legal practitioners qualified in one of the member states, having a place of business within the Community, and who’s name appears on the list of Professional Representatives maintained for that purpose by OHIM.
OHIM keeps two lists of representatives being (1) representatives entitled to act in both trade mark and design matters and (2) representatives entitled to act in design matters only.
For British nationals, entry onto the OHIM list of professional representatives requires entitlement to represent in trade mark matters before the UK Trade Marks Registry, and at least 5 years experience acting before the UK Trade Marks Registry.
Now that Laura is qualified, Franks & Co has a total of 11 European Trade Mark and Design Attorneys.
