Luke joined Franks & Co in October 2021

Technical

Luke graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Marine Biology with Oceanography. Luke’s degree specialised in aquaculture and the environmental effects of globalisation but also covered a wide range of technical disciplines including fluid mechanics and geophysics. He reviewed the impact of the recently introduced environmental legislation on the Manila Clam fishery in Poole Harbour, Dorset. Luke also studied modules in coding and technical writing.

Professional

Luke is a multidisciplinary patent and trade mark representative and has experience in trade mark oppositions, trade mark prosecution, trade mark and patent landscape searches, patent specification drafting, and patent infringement opinions amongst other areas of intellectual property. Luke has prosecuted patents in areas including mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and fluid systems.

Due to his technical background, Luke has a particular interest in offshore, marine, and renewable technologies.
